Tiger Texture!

I got this new China Glaze Texture polish in Toe-tally Textured. It is so weird to run a finger across your nail and not feel its smoothness. This orange is bright and dries a bit matte. I needed to add something to them so I did one finger with tiger stripes. Since the polish is bumpy you may have to go over the stripes another time so they stand out. I do have to say though, don't wear textured polish with your favorite yoga pants, or anything else that your nails could catch a thread on. It will happen and you will be sad!

Fruity Tye-Dye

So sorry I haven't posted anything in a while! Work has been so crazy, I miss the days when summer got relaxing instead of still busy. This mani was inspired by a fruit salad actually and all the bright colours of the pineapple, mandarins, strawberries, and lychee fruit. Needless to say it was delicious! This is super easy to do if you take a makeup sponge and blotch the different colours over the nail so they blend. I added a thing layer of white glitter over top just to give it extra pop. Try it out!

Canada Day!

Today in Canada was a day full of festivities and fireworks. Canada turned 146 and everyone was wearing some sort of Canadian pride. I had to work but decided to do Canadian nail art.
I wanted to do something original so I searched all over Pinterest lol, found lots of polka dots but not very many with a different design on each nail. So I did a maple leaf on the thumb, white shatter over red on the index, red & white water marble on the middle, ombre on the ring finger and dot ombre on the pinkie.

Here's a close-up of the thumb, decided to not put top coat on it in case it smudged it! Hope you guys love it as much as I do! Happy Canada Day :)!

Summer Highlights!

One of my favourite things about summer is the bright colours that everyone seems to be wearing. It's like the one time of the year that peoples' fearless side comes out. They're not afraid to take risks and show their wild side. However, too much bold can be overpowering.

I wanted to wear a bright colour on my nails for the start of summer but I had just bought a really pretty nude colour and didn't know what to do. Hard times I know! But I thought just an accent of the neon colour would be super cute and that's exactly what I did :)

I used two coats of OPI Privacy Please as the base colour and did a streak of the bright colour on the side of each nail. On the left hand I used Essie Action and on the right hand I used Essie Camera.

These Essie colours dried with a sort of matte finish so I put on a shiny top coat and now I've got the perfect balance of summer neon on my nails! Summer break has started so go put on some bright colours and have fun in the sun :)!

Half 'N' Half Mani

I've had a lot to do with school lately so I just stuck with a simple design and focused on choosing colours that will look good together. Summer is getting closer and all the bright nail colours are coming into season. However, the nice bright sunshine hasn't hit the area I live in yet :( I bought a new pastel pink and decided to pair it with a bright fuschia to match the in between spring and summer weather we have going on here.

I have a love-hate relationship with Essie nail polish. The colours are amazing and the names are super cute! But sometimes when I use them sometimes it goes on streaky and thin, even if I shake it well to make sure it gets mixed. Anyways, the colours I used for this are Essie Camera and Essie Fiji. I did two coats of Fiji, waited for it to dry, put some tape down the middle and did one coat of Camera.

I love this look, and everyone kept telling me how cute it was :) It's so simple to do and you can do it for anytime you want to add a little bit of extra flair to your mani!

Superman Nail Design!

About a week ago I did a Superman design since Man of Steel is coming out soon and it went along with the title of this blog. I love Superman, I think he is the original superhero because when someone says hero you think of Superman. I'm really excited to see Man of Steel! It comes out June 13 which is so close!

Something to know about me is that I do like the big name polishes, but I also don't see the point in buying them all the time if you can get colours you love for less money. It just makes sense to me, since I have a very small budget and cheaper doesn't always mean that the polish isn't good. I usually don't use salon brand or designer polishes for special designs because I don't have the money to buy them all the time and if they're really nice I would just wear that single colour.

So to do this Superman design, you need blue, yellow and gold polish, plus either a red nail polish pen or a thin brush and red polish. I started with a strengthening base coat since my nails get pretty damaged. After that dried I put two coats of Joe Fresh Periwinkle on every finger. On the ring finger I made pentagon (five sides for those who aren't good at geometry) with Joe Fresh Canary. On the other fingers I did French tips in Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Golden-I. After the yellow is dry, take your red and outline it (I used Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Red, it has a slight shimmer) and make the Superman "S" in the middle. Once everything is dry seal it with topcoat and you're done!

Don't forget to go see Man of Steel when it comes out in theatres! And soon I'll try and get another design up here for you!

SuperManis!

So I decided to start a nail blog! SuperMani is so clever I love it. I do nail art all the time and I'm always begging my friends to let me paint their nails. So this is just something to help organize the nail art madness that is my obsession.

I'm still in high school so I'm pretty busy but my goal is to get at least two posts with new designs every month! I'm 100% self-taught, I usually find a picture that inspires me and try to replicate the idea or twist it into my own design.

If you stumble upon this one day keep reading I promise it'll be worth it :)!
